Appearance:

Athena's kind of a babe. Even though she has a smaller, thinner stature, she is clearly toned, muscled, and it's obvious that even if she looks cute and delicate she could also kick your ass. Typically she's seen wearing military clothes, usually off-duty Republic tank tops and pants. She had brown hair and eyes, and the face you feel like you've seen before. Probably because she has about a bilion clones running around in space, but hey.

Personality:

The defining quality to Athena's personality would be her tenacity. Despite the neverending struggle that is constantly dealt to her and her family on a silver platter, she presses forward and never surrenders to the outward forces that be. Raised as a tool, Athena was a cylon, or machine, created and instructed for one sole purpose: to fall in love and mate with a human. This divine purpose backfires tremendously, and most of Athena's personal growth and development stems from the love she has for her husband, Helo. With one foot in each world, Athena is defined by the constant conflict of loyalty she endures and the humanistic qualities she adapts.

Before meeting Helo, Athena was a cylon with an 8 model, one who had specifically downloaded the memories of sleeper 8 agent Boomer (Might want to check the wiki for this. BSG Cylon lives are...messy, to say the least) who was serving alongside Adama's fleet of human survivors. Because of this, Athena was already set apart from her fellow "sisters", as she grew to care for, and experience, the memories just as Boomer did, a cylon who utterly believed she was human. This was an especially dangerous contact for an 8 model, as 8s, according to Caprica 6, are models prone to betrayal and weak conviction. Athena is initially a pliable tool for Five and Six, who wished to secure the  future of the cylon race by breeding with humans by having a stranded human survivor, Boomer's old ECO Helo, fall in love with her-- an exact replica of Boomer. Athena is seen as almost weak willed, eagerly believing in the cylon cause and following orders.

This changes when the plan backfires and she falls genuinely in love with Helo. This love is what defines Athena, the person who grew out of the cylon model 8. Athena is fiercely protective and devoted, not only to her family but also to "her" crew. She has a neverending need to prove herself to the humans, one that she meets headstrong and unflinchingly. She has several reservations about betraying her kind, but she places them aside for the love she holds for her husband and child. Athena is very much single minded in that regard- her family is her first priority, and everything else falls second. She is constantly criticized by the cylons for being too "Human", in that she reacts on instinct and usually allows passion and conviction to overrule her logic and reason. Athena can be impulsive, but that impulsive is typically fueled by the right reasons.

Athena also has a tremendous respect for the military uniform awarded to her by Admiral Adama. It's clear that she craves an acceptance in the human community, and wishes to truly be a part of it. Always an outsider, Athena holds some bitterness towards the ostracization of her and her husband, but moreso that of her daughter. Hera is the single most important thing to Athena, and she will deliver some unholy mama bear if you touch her precious baby. She has very strong maternal instincts, and no scruples when it comes to shooting anyone she feels is a threat.

The screen in front of her seemed to inflate, glowing a vibrant blue and transforming from two to three dimensional. Sharon eyed the planets as they shifted, a finger tracing a moving one slowly around the axis of the astronavigational chart. She evaluated it for a few moments before dropping her finger, having it hover over her datapad instead as she plotted coordinates on a rudimentary data grid.

Closer.

Every accessed chart brought her a little closer back to New Earth, closer to her husband and daughter again. It wasn't much, but it was something that made her feel as if her isolation from her home world and family wasn't in vain. That she'd see them before it was all over. Adama and the fleet of human survivors had taught her at least that one thing: hope wasn't a futility.

Sharon inhaled, flipping the axis of the grid and starting over. Little by little, the pieces were starting to fall into place, the stars began to align.

As Starbuck would say, there had to be a way out of here.

"Hold on Karl," she muttered, entering another point of possible FTL landing, "I'm coming."
